One injured in stabbing at Norwegian graduation party

A person was taken to hospital after a stabbing at a russ graduation celebration in Porsgrunn, Telemark, early Tuesday, Dagbladet reports.

Police responded to the incident at approximately 4:13 a.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing at the gathering. Operations manager Ottar Steinstø confirmed in a log entry just before 5 a.m. that one individual had been transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“We received a report from a russ event about a stabbing. One person has been taken to hospital with injuries. It does not appear serious at this time,” Steinstø wrote. “We are on site and in contact with several individuals.”

Between 150 and 200 graduates were present when officers arrived. Police have identified one suspect and one victim in the incident.
