The Faroese Media Council has found that Kringvarp Føroya, the national public broadcaster, failed to uphold proper journalistic standards in a December 2025 article about Dennis Holm’s financial dealings and alleged conflicts of interest, the council announced Monday.

In its ruling, the watchdog determined the broadcaster did not give Holm adequate opportunity to respond before publishing serious accusations regarding his property sales and dual roles in a government financial committee and a local association in the village of Vágur. The council also found the article’s headline did not accurately reflect its content and that a correction issued the same day was insufficiently clear, particularly given the gravity of the allegations.

The Media Council has issued a formal reprimand to Kringvarp Føroya over the December 18, 2025 report, which appeared on both its broadcasting platforms and website. The full decision is available on the council’s site.
