Driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Pöytyä

A driver was killed early Sunday morning after their car left the road and crashed on Hinnerjoentie in Pöytyä, southwestern Finland, reports public broadcaster Yle.
A passerby discovered the severely damaged vehicle shortly after 5 a.m. near the Valasrannantie intersection in Yläne, about 500 metres from the crash site. The occupant, found unresponsive, was later pronounced dead.
Southwest Finland Police are investigating the cause of the accident and the circumstances leading to the fatality. Authorities have not released further details at this stage.
