Faroese court to hear major cocaine smuggling case today

A Faroese court will today hear the case against three people accused of smuggling five kilograms of cocaine into the Faroe Islands, national broadcaster KVF reports.

Police have charged a woman and two men—all Faroese residents in their 30s—with importing the drugs and selling most of the shipment within the islands. The trio were detained following an investigation into large-scale narcotics trafficking.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. in the Faroese high court.
