Massive industrial fire in Älvsjö sends smoke across Stockholm

A 16,000-square-metre industrial building in Älvsjö, southern Stockholm, is fully engulfed in flames, with the roof collapsed and the structure reduced to a “single glowing mass,” according to emergency response commander Tobias Åkesson, who spoke to Swedish public broadcaster SVT early Friday.

The blaze has sent thick smoke drifting over parts of the capital, though no injuries have been reported.

Meanwhile, a Russian drone struck a residential building in the Romanian city of Galați near the Ukrainian border, the country’s defence ministry told Reuters. The extent of damage or casualties remains unclear.

In the US, a Blue Origin New Glenn rocket exploded during a test launch at Cape Canaveral, Florida, late Thursday, American media reported. The company, founded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, confirmed no injuries occurred in the incident.
