Climber rescued after becoming stranded on Romsdalshorn mountain in Norway

A climber was rescued after becoming stranded on the Romsdalshorn mountain, which rises 1,550 meters above sea level and is one of the most well-known peaks in the Romsdal Alps. The rescue operation was initiated around 3:39 PM after one member of the climbing party alerted authorities of the situation.

According to Tove Holst-Dyrnes, operations manager for the Møre and Romsdal police district, a second climber who was part of a different group managed to reach the stranded individual. Holst-Dyrnes confirmed that the climber is now secured and is being escorted to a safe location.

The Southern Norway Rescue Coordination Centre dispatched a helicopter, which was later called back once the climber was found and secured. Fortunately, authorities reported that no injuries occurred in connection with the incident.

Romsdalshorn is a popular hiking destination located in the municipality of Rauma.
