Faroese public broadcaster opens mental health awareness night with Moomins, baking, and choir performances

The Faroese national broadcaster KVF will host its annual mental health awareness evening on June 5, featuring live performances, film screenings, and interactive activities for all ages.

From 3 p.m., the event will include a live baking session with the 2025 and 2026 winners of Kakumiks, the broadcaster’s popular baking competition, as well as a cake-tasting session in the KVF hall. The children’s choir from Hoydølum will perform at 4 p.m., while a guided tour with host Tórður will offer behind-the-scenes access to the broadcaster’s facilities.

The evening will also premiere the first episode of a new Moomin series, with screenings in the KVF cinema and later on the ViT streaming app. Organizers emphasized that all activities are open to the public, following last year’s well-attended event, which included a concert by Faroese artist Jens.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to Sortudíki for an inspiring and engaging mental health evening,” the broadcaster stated.
