The Faroese Meteorological Office will create a detailed wind atlas to provide precise, location-specific wind data across the archipelago, following funding approval from the Faroese Research Council, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The project, described as a “high-resolution wind atlas,” will offer an accurate, localized overview of wind patterns in different areas of the Faroe Islands. Unlike traditional wind maps, the new system will allow the public to directly access and examine typical wind conditions at specific sites.

Funding from the Research Council will enable the meteorological office to finalise the atlas, which is intended to improve accessibility to wind-related information for both public and professional use.
