According to reports, the aviation color code for Katla has been downgraded from yellow to green, indicating a return to normal conditions and suggesting that there is no immediate threat of an eruption. The yellow code had been in effect prior to this downgrade, signaling that increased geological activity was noted.

Electrical conductivity levels in the Skálm region have shown a marked decline since yesterday, following an increase noticed on the morning of Saturday. Measurements indicate that the glacier is stabilizing and approaching what is termed “normal background activity.”
