Finland’s National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has issued updated recommendations for autumn covid-19 vaccinations, largely maintaining its previous guidance.

The agency advises vaccination for all individuals aged 80 or older, severely immunocompromised patients, elderly residents in care homes, those receiving regular home care, and individuals in family care arrangements. Wellbeing services counties may also offer vaccines to people aged 75–79 and adults over 18 with multiple high-risk conditions for severe covid-19.

THL recommends launching the vaccination campaign no later than the start of the seasonal influenza vaccine rollout. This year’s flu vaccine will again be available to children under 7, adults over 65, pregnant individuals, and those at elevated risk due to medical conditions or treatments.
