Police seek public tips in Espoo sexual assault investigation

Police in western Uusimaa are asking for public assistance in identifying a man suspected of multiple sexual offences against young women in Espoo, reports Finnish broadcaster Yle.

The suspect is accused of targeting women unfamiliar to him, primarily following them after they disembarked from public transport late in the evening. The attacks reportedly occurred as the victims traveled home from locations such as the Iso Omena shopping center or other stops along the metro line.

Authorities state the crimes—including aggravated sexual assault, aggravated battery, sexual harassment, and attempted rape—took place this year and last, with the most recent incident reported last week in Niittykumpu.

Police have released an image of the suspect and urge anyone who may have encountered a man matching the description but has not yet filed a report to come forward.
