Talks between the Faroese public sector union Starvsfelagið and the finance ministry’s wage division will resume Wednesday, with both sides potentially signing a new collective bargaining agreement later this week, according to the union’s chair.
Súni Selfoss, who leads Starvsfelagið, told public broadcaster KVF that the outcome of Wednesday’s meeting would determine whether a deal is reached by the end of the week. He declined further comment until an agreement is finalised.
Negotiations began roughly two weeks ago. Starvsfelagið is one of 12 unions that earlier this year reached a wage framework deal with the Faroese Ministry of Finance.
