Finnish authorities have yet to locate the Karf family, who vanished from western Finland in May 2024, despite an extensive investigation and hundreds of public tips, regional police confirmed in a statement on Tuesday.
The parents, Tommy and Karoliina Karf—wanted on criminal charges—remain at large with their eight children, whose whereabouts are unknown. Police said they cannot advance the case without locating and questioning the family.
Interpol has issued a global missing persons alert for the children, but active searches have stalled, according to lead investigator Tony Rauma. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that the family is being sheltered by a network of supporters, either in Finland or abroad.
Officials stressed that any sighting or credible information about the family’s location could be critical to the investigation.
