The Faroese national medical director has issued multiple directives to the Eystan Heyg care facility in Tórshavn after identifying “significant issues affecting patient safety,” according to a report by Faroese public broadcaster KVF.
Inspections on March 9 revealed deficiencies in medication handling and medical record-keeping at the facility, which houses up to 16 adult residents with psychiatric conditions and employs 13 staff. On May 22, authorities ordered four corrective measures to address the problems.
The facility is operated by Almannaverkin, the Faroese public social services agency.
