Police confirm shooting in Asker, one injured

A person has been injured in a shooting incident in Asker, southwest of Oslo, Norwegian police confirmed to Dagbladet on Saturday evening.

Operational commander Øyvind Hammervold told the newspaper that authorities received reports around 21:00 of gunfire in the area, with simultaneous calls indicating a possible gunshot wound. Witnesses in the vicinity had reported hearing shots fired.

Police have secured all individuals involved and are not searching for additional suspects, Hammervold stated. The injured individual, described as conscious and alert, is receiving medical treatment at the scene. Authorities have deployed significant resources to the location.
