Stavanger police hunt suspect after serious assault leaves man hospitalised

A man has been seriously injured and taken to Stavanger University Hospital following a violent assault at a residential address in Stavanger, police confirmed Saturday.
Operations commander Dag Steinkopf told Dagbladet that emergency services responded to reports of the incident at 15:43 local time. The victim was immediately transported to hospital with severe injuries, though authorities have not disclosed further details about his condition.
Police have not yet located the suspect and are gathering statements from witnesses at the scene. Officers are conducting door-to-door inquiries in the surrounding neighbourhood, according to local outlet RA Stavanger.
“We received reports of a serious violent incident at this location,” incident commander Sten Kristian Lund told reporters at the scene. “Emergency medical personnel and police were dispatched, and we located a patient who was taken directly to hospital for treatment. The injury is serious—beyond that, we have no additional information.”
The number of individuals involved in the assault remains unclear. Police have urged anyone with information, images, or video footage to contact them.
