Child’s hand trapped in elevator door for 10 minutes in Jyväskylä

A preschool-aged child’s hand was caught in an elevator door for about 10 minutes in the Halssila district of Jyväskylä on Saturday afternoon, according to Central Finland Rescue Services.

The incident occurred in a residential building on Telkäntie, where the elevator door closed despite the child’s hand being in the way. Rescue personnel opened the door using a specialized elevator key.

The child did not sustain visible injuries but was taken to hospital as a precaution, authorities confirmed.
