Two girls, aged 15 and 17, will appear in a closed custody hearing at Herning District Court on Saturday after being charged with attempting to obtain a hand grenade to target an unidentified address in the Herning area, Midt- og Vestjyllands Police confirmed.

The charges follow a police operation at Herning Station on Friday evening, where officers detained three individuals after receiving reports of suspicious activity aboard a train bound for Herning. Rail services to and from the station were temporarily suspended during the operation. A third suspect, a man unrelated to the ongoing conflict in the region, was later released without charge.

Passengers on the train were evacuated and transported to the police station for witness interviews. Authorities stated there was no immediate danger to the public during the incident.

Prosecutors have requested the hearing be held behind closed doors to avoid compromising the investigation. Police believe the case is linked to an escalating conflict between two criminal factions—Loyal to Familia (LTF) and the Comanches biker group—active in Herning and surrounding areas.

Investigators are focusing on identifying potential accomplices who may have assisted the girls in obtaining the explosive device. A mobile police station will remain at Herning’s Banegårdspladsen until 14:00 for public inquiries related to the case.
