Oslo central station closed for all train traffic until Sunday
Oslo’s main railway hub will remain shut through Saturday as infrastructure upgrades force the cancellation or diversion of trains, state rail administrator Bane Nor announced.
The closure, effective until 04:00 Sunday, disrupts travel for thousands—including fans heading to the Women’s Champions League final between Barcelona and Lyon at Ullevaal Stadium. “There’s no way around it,” said Lars Berge, Bane Nor’s regional director, urging passengers to allow extra time. Services will terminate or turn back at outlying stations such as Skøyen, Bryn, and Grefsen.
The work is part of a long-term project to reduce network vulnerabilities, though shops and restaurants at Oslo S remain open. Normal service resumes early Sunday.
