Waste disposal prices at the Intermunicipal Waste Company (IRF) in the Faroe Islands will increase by roughly five percentage points from 1 June, Faroese broadcaster KVF reported on Friday.
The price hike is due to higher operating costs, according to IRF.
For small burnable waste, the price per cubic metre will rise by 13 kroner to 248 kroner. Large burnable waste for reduction and incineration will cost 16 kroner more per cubic metre, reaching 331 kroner. Livestock waste for incineration will increase by 50 kroner to 1,040 kroner per cubic metre. Paper for recycling will become three kroner more expensive per square metre, costing 48 kroner.
All prices are exclusive of VAT, IRF stated.
