Finnish foreign minister condemns Russian disinformation campaign against Baltic states

Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has condemned Russian disinformation targeting Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, calling the false claims part of a wider campaign, Yle reports citing the state news agency STT.

In a post on X, Valtonen said Russia had in recent days alleged that the Baltic countries were allowing their airspace to be used for drone attacks against Russia. She stated that Finland stands alongside all countries subjected to Russian intimidation and lies.

Multiple drone alerts have been issued in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in recent days. On Thursday, the presidents of the three countries issued a joint statement condemning the airspace violations and rejecting Russian accusations as disinformation.
