30,400 employed in Faroe Islands in April
The number of employed persons in the Faroe Islands reached 30,419 in April, according to the national statistics office Hagstovan, as reported by KVF.
Of those, 15,500 were men and 14,900 women. The workforce grew by 382 people compared with April 2025, an increase of 1.3 percent.
Hagstovan noted that the share of women working in the public sector continues to rise. Nearly two out of three women are employed under public administration, while only one in four men works in that sector. The public sector as defined by Hagstovan includes public administration and services, non‑financial and financial corporations, households, and non‑profit institutions under public control.
Growth in the overall workforce has slowed in recent years.
