Three minor girls have been approached by a man near Ellevangsskolen in the Risskov district of Aarhus, according to a press release from Østjyllands Politi reported by DR.

The first report was filed last Wednesday by the parents of a girl who said the man briefly grabbed her as she walked home from school in the afternoon before she managed to escape. Police subsequently received information about two other girls who had been contacted by a man in the same area the previous Friday and were asked to come with him.

The man is described as Danish-looking, light-skinned, aged between 20 and 30, with large, thick hair and wearing black clothing. Police have conducted interviews and searched the area with dogs.

“This is of course a case we take very seriously and are investigating intensively to identify the man,” said Vice Police Inspector Mads Flansmose in the press release.

School principal Solveig Klyvø said the school is focused on maintaining a sense of safety. “We talk calmly with the children when the subject comes up. We listen to their concerns, because it is very important that they feel heard,” she said, adding that the school works to curb unconfirmed speculation. Children are reminded they can walk with others or approach an adult if they feel unsafe.

Police are holding a dialogue meeting for parents at the school this afternoon. The ages of the girls have not been disclosed out of consideration for them.
