Faroese parliamentary ombudsman received 104 complaints last year
The Faroese parliamentary ombudsman received 104 complaints in 2025, according to a report by Kringvarp Føroya. Of those, 93 were fully resolved during the year, and a further 23 complaints carried over from previous years were also concluded.
In total, 116 complaints were resolved last year. Of these, 26 resulted in a formal outcome, either in the form of an opinion or a written statement.
During 2025, the ombudsman also issued reports from two supervisory visits and conducted an inquiry into a case that was opened on the office’s own initiative.
The annual report also contains two articles: one addressing the risk of discrimination in connection with the digitalisation of public services, and another on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and legislative drafting.
