Faroese healthcare worker wage talks continue with new mediation meetings

Mediation efforts between the Municipal Employers’ Association (KAF) and the Healthcare Workers’ Association in the Faroe Islands are continuing, Faroese public broadcaster KVF reports.

“The negotiations are moving slowly, there is contact between the parties, and the Mediation Office has a meeting with the Healthcare Workers’ Association tomorrow,” said Terje Sigurðsson, the mediator, in a brief comment.

The Mediation Office held a meeting with the Municipal Employers’ Association on Friday. Sigurðsson said the office had received proposals from both parties several weeks ago, after which the parties consulted each other without the Mediation Office’s direct involvement. Last week, the Mediation Office resumed its active role in the process.
