Finnish food safety authority warns of kiwi fruit recall over pesticide levels
Finland’s Finnish Food Authority (Ruokavirasto) has issued a warning about kiwi fruit imported into Finland that contains excessive residues of a pesticide called fenthion, according to a report by Yle. The importer, Satotukku, notified the authority of the contamination.
The affected product is sold under the brand name Puro Gusto. The kiwis originate from South Africa and are packaged in 500-gram packs bearing the batch codes L: 1804 or L: 1905.
The packs have been on sale since 3 May 2026 at K-Group stores, Tokmanni outlets, Wolt Markets, and a number of other individual retailers.
The authority states that the affected batches may not be safe for children, and consumers are advised to stop using them immediately. Consumers seeking a refund are recommended to contact the store where the product was purchased.
