Finnish regulatory authority rejects demand to halt Toyota rally team construction project in Jyväskylä
Finland’s National Licensing and Supervisory Authority (Luova) has rejected a demand to suspend construction of a motorsport track being built by Toyota’s rally team at Majajärvi in Jyväskylä, according to public broadcaster Yle.
The local branch of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation had called for construction to be halted, citing a small waterway that had gone unnoticed on the building site.
The authority ruled that there are no grounds to suspend the construction.
Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team, which employs more than 300 people, is building new facilities at Majajärvi and plans to relocate there from its current base in the Jyskä area of Jyväskylä. The motorsport track is part of that broader development project.
