A man accused of an assault in Sandá will celebrate the national holiday Ólavsøka while in custody.
The Eastern High Court has upheld the decision made by the Faroese Court, confirming that the man will remain in detention for an additional four weeks.
The accused was taken into custody for the assault on a woman on the streets of Sandá in Argir. On Tuesday, the Faroese Court extended his remand in custody for four weeks, as requested by the police.
The man appealed the ruling to the Eastern High Court, which has now validated the earlier decision.
He is charged with attacking a woman on the street near Sandá, east of the soccer field in Argir, on the evening of April 28.
The man denies the allegations against him and has been in custody since April 28.
