Danish musician Stig Møller, best known as a co-founder of the rock group Steppeulvene, has died at the age of 80, according to DR. His close friend Peter Ingemann confirmed the news to Ritzau.

“We are going to miss him incredibly. But sadly there is no more life left for Stig,” Ingemann said.

Møller co-founded Steppeulvene alongside Eik Skaløe in 1966. The group is behind the LP “Hip”. Møller and Ingemann were long-time musical partners and at one point performed together as part of the group Skousen og Ingemann, as well as collaborating across a range of other settings over many years.

In 1978, Møller recorded the album “Starfuckers” together with, among others, Kim Larsen, under their leisure group of the same name. Larsen has credited Møller as his guitar teacher.

In 1994, Møller released the album “Sikke’n dejlig dag”, whose title track quickly became a sing-along favourite.
