Finnish emergency authorities have updated their public safety instructions for responding to drone-related threat warnings, the Ministry of the Interior announced Friday.

The revised guidelines, published on the [pelastustoimi.fi](https://pelastustoimi.fi) website, advise residents to prepare in advance by discussing emergency responses with family and ensuring the 112 Suomi emergency app is installed on mobile devices.

If you receive a drone threat alert:
– Indoors: Stay inside, away from windows and doors. Move to a central room with sturdy walls.
– In a vehicle: Exit and seek shelter indoors. Ensure parked vehicles do not obstruct emergency response routes.
– Outdoors: Find the most protected location possible, shielded by walls or other barriers. If in open terrain, take cover below ground level (e.g., a ditch or depression).
– Critical workers: Follow employer-specific protocols for continuing essential operations during alerts.

Authorities emphasize that threat alerts are issued for the shortest necessary duration to minimize societal disruption. Movement in affected areas should be avoided until the alert is lifted.

The guidelines also reiterate that anyone encountering a suspicious drone should maintain a minimum distance of 150 meters.
