Oslo central station closes for all train traffic this weekend
Oslo Sentralstasjon will be fully closed to train traffic from early Saturday until Sunday morning, infrastructure manager Bane Nor confirmed to Avisa Oslo.
The shutdown begins on Pentecost Saturday and lasts until 4 am on Sunday, 1 June. According to Bane Nor’s regional director Lars Berge, the work involves the entire signalling system at Oslo S.
“This is part of a larger project to reduce the impact of critical network failures,” Berge stated. “The ultimate goal is fewer delays for passengers.”
During the closure, many trains will terminate or reverse at Skøyen, Bryn, Grefsen, and other stations on the outskirts of the central hub. Travellers are advised to check with train operators and allow extra time, particularly those heading to Ullevaal Stadium for the historic UEFA Women’s Champions League final between Barcelona and Lyon.
Normal service resumes from 4 am on Sunday.
