The Faroese parliament, Løgtingið, will hold its final vote on proposed changes to taxes on petrol, diesel, and value-added tax (VAT) on Friday, according to public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya. The legislative session comes as lawmakers prepare to enter summer recess next Tuesday, with 15 pending committee cases still unresolved.

The tax proposal was approved in its second reading earlier this week, securing 23 votes in favour from the Union Party and Centre Party. Opposition came from Sámal Petur í Grund and Ruth Vang, while the Republic party abstained. A separate motion by Vang to return the bill to committee failed.

Friday’s session, beginning at 9 AM, will address nine agenda items. Fifteen bills remain in committee—one yet to receive its first reading—and five reports await review before the summer break.
