The Faroese telecommunications company Føroya Tele has approved a 50 million krona dividend payout to the Faroese government, its majority owner, following strong financial results, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The decision was made at the company’s annual general meeting on Wednesday. Føroya Tele recorded a net profit of 38 million krona after tax in 2025, with total equity reaching 519 million krona at year-end.

All board members were reappointed, including the four government-nominated representatives: chair Bjarni Arnason, vice-chair Johnni M. Poulsen, and members Lena L. Mohr and Annbritt Tummasdóttir Andersen. The three employee-elected board members—Ólavur Simonsen, Finnbjørn Simonsen, and Janus Djurhuus—also retain their positions.

Founded in 1906, Føroya Tele will mark its 120th anniversary on 19 November this year.
