New school in northern Jutland holds its first ever last day of school
A newly opened school in northern Denmark has celebrated its first “last day of school” tradition, as ninth-grade students marked the end of their primary education with costumes, music, and water pistols.
Stigsborg School in Nørresundby, which opened in August, held the event for the first time on Wednesday, reports Danish broadcaster DR. The graduating class—formerly students at the now-closed Skansevejens School—helped design the day’s activities, including awards ceremonies and a traditional “caramel toss.”
Dressed in elaborate outfits, the students gathered with water guns and music, following long-standing Danish customs for the final school day before summer break.
