Finnish MP Pekka Aittakumpu’s wife files for divorce

The wife of Finns Party MP Pekka Aittakumpu has filed for divorce in Oulu District Court, according to a report by Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

Court records confirm the divorce proceedings were initiated on 27 April, with Aittakumpu’s wife listed as the applicant. The case was first reported by tabloid Iltalehti.

Aittakumpu, a former Centre Party member, defected to the Finns Party in 2020. He is reportedly the first Old Conservative Laestadian MP to represent the party. By profession, he is an ordained priest.
