Liberal party leader Simona Mohamsson faces public questions in live Q&A
Swedish public broadcaster SVT is hosting a live question-and-answer session with Liberal Party (L) leader Simona Mohamsson on Monday evening, where viewers can submit any question directly to the party leader.
The session, part of the Fråga partiledaren allt! (Ask the Party Leader Anything!) series hosted by Fouad Youcefi, allows the public to engage with Mohamsson via SVT Play, the Duo app, and social media. The live broadcast runs from 20:00 to 20:30 local time, with the chat opening 15 minutes prior.
Early questions submitted by viewers include inquiries about the party’s stance on deportations of young people raised in Sweden who have not committed crimes, its position on cannabis legalisation, and Mohamsson’s shifting views on the Sweden Democrats (SD). Other submissions range from personal queries—such as her preferences on fika (Swedish coffee breaks)—to policy critiques, including accusations of dismissing smaller cities after she labelled early shop closures in Karlstad as “socialism” during a 2026 party conference.
The format, running over four weeks in May, gives each Swedish party leader an unrestricted platform to address voter concerns ahead of the 2026 election. SVT emphasises that no topic is off-limits.
