Longtime SVT culture journalist Kristofer Lundström to leave broadcaster
Kristofer Lundström, a veteran journalist with Swedish public broadcaster SVT, will leave the company after more than two decades, SVT Nyheter reports.
Lundström joined SVT in 2001 as part of the launch team for Kulturnyheterna (Culture News), the broadcaster’s daily culture programme. He was recruited from Swedish Radio, where he had worked on the morning show Godmorgon Världen (Good Morning World). During the programme’s early years, he anchored nearly every broadcast, helping establish its format.
In 2002, Lundström became host of the cultural programme Kobra after its first six months on air. For over 15 years, he produced reports from around the world for the show. He has also frequently served as a substitute news anchor for SVT’s flagship news programmes Rapport and Aktuellt, and has hosted multiple broadcasts from the Nobel Banquet.
The announcement follows recent departures of other high-profile SVT journalists, including news anchor Karin Magnusson and foreign correspondent Bengt Norborg.
