Man charged with murder of partner in Kotka homicide

Police in southeastern Finland have charged a man with the murder of his partner, a middle-aged woman, in the Karhuvuori district of Kotka over the weekend, Yle reports.

The suspect, a local resident, has cooperated with investigators, and authorities have established the basic sequence of events. Police plan to request his pretrial detention and will provide further updates on Wednesday.

The crime was reported to emergency services late Saturday night. Investigators have not disclosed the suspected weapon used in the killing.
