Finnish consumer watchdog receives reports of solar panel company pressuring elderly customers
The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (KKV) has received dozens of complaints since last summer about a company called Seron, which sells solar panels and battery systems, state broadcaster Yle reports.
According to the reports, Seron representatives have shown up uninvited at consumers’ homes, using high-pressure tactics to sell systems costing up to €10,000 or more. The complaints suggest that elderly and memory-impaired customers have been particularly targeted.
The Consumer Ombudsman has urged caution when dealing with the company.
