Police investigate suspected murder in Kotka

Police in southeastern Finland are investigating a suspected homicide in the city of Kotka, national broadcaster Yle reports.

Authorities were alerted to the crime via an emergency call made overnight between Saturday and Sunday. A suspect has been detained and will be presented for remand in custody. The case is currently being treated as a murder investigation.

In a statement, police urged for operational privacy, noting that releasing further details could compromise the ongoing preliminary investigation.
