Farmer returns 50 tonnes of boulders to grassland to restore habitats
A farmer on the Danish island of Mors has spread 50 tonnes of large stones across his grassland to recreate natural habitats for wildlife, reports DR.
Henrik, whose last name was not provided, transported the boulders back onto his fields after recognising their ecological value. A single stone can serve as a home for countless species, according to the report.
The initiative aims to reverse the historical removal of stones from agricultural land, a practice that has reduced biodiversity in rural areas.
