Traces of cocaine have been detected in visitor toilets at Leos Lekland, a chain of indoor play centres for children, according to a report by Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

Tests conducted at locations in Malmö, Gothenburg, and Stockholm revealed cocaine residue on guest toilets, with samples collected using wipes that change colour when exposed to the drug. Follow-up laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of cocaine in varying amounts, according to Anders Helander, associate professor at the Karolinska Institute.

The findings cover multiple branches of Leos Lekland, including two sites in Malmö—Stora Bernstorp and Stadion—where tests were carried out during spring. Gabriel Bergqvist, chief marketing officer for Leos Lekland, told Aftonbladet the company has no prior reports of observed or suspected drug use on its premises.

“Our position is clear: we strongly oppose all forms of drugs,” Bergqvist stated. “If such incidents occur, staff are instructed to contact the police immediately. Guests using drugs are not welcome.”
