Police suspect attempted murder in Rovaniemi knife attack

Finnish police are investigating a suspected attempted murder after a violent knife attack in a private home in Rovaniemi on Sunday, reports national broadcaster Yle.

A person is suspected of using a bladed weapon to attack another individual inside a residence, also inflicting self-harm during the incident. Both adults involved were hospitalised following the attack.

The incident triggered a large-scale police operation in the Ounasrinne area of Rovaniemi, with multiple patrol units and emergency medical teams dispatched to the scene. Authorities have not released further details about the condition of those injured or the circumstances leading to the attack.

Police continue to investigate the case as an attempted homicide.
