Former Liberal Party leader Johan Pehrson appointed Sweden’s ambassador to Portugal
The Swedish government has appointed Johan Pehrson, the former leader of the Liberal Party, as the country’s new ambassador to Portugal, according to an announcement from the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday.
Pehrson, who served as party leader from 2022 until his resignation in 2025, will assume the diplomatic post in August. He was succeeded by current Liberal Party leader Simona Mohamsson.
Before leading the party, Pehrson held ministerial roles as Sweden’s education minister and minister for employment and integration.
