Lars Mikkelsen joins Denmark’s Cirkusrevyen in surprise move

Danish actor Lars Mikkelsen, known for his dramatic roles in Forbrydelsen, Borgen, and international productions like House of Cards and Star Wars, will appear in this year’s Cirkusrevyen, Denmark’s largest satirical revue, DR reports.

Mikkelsen’s unexpected shift to comedy follows a spontaneous decision after visiting the revue’s tent, combined with the director’s desire to surprise audiences. The actor, one of Denmark’s most prominent, also has a background in physical comedy and street performance.

The move marks a departure from Mikkelsen’s usual serious roles, bringing his talents to a lighter, satirical stage.
