Train services suspended in Tampere due to possible overhead line damage
Train traffic in Tampere has been halted due to a suspected fault in the overhead electric lines, according to a statement by Fintraffic, Finland’s rail traffic operator.
Investigations into the cause of the damage are underway, though authorities have not yet estimated how long the disruption will last.
VR, Finland’s national railway company, reports that multiple trains are delayed or cancelled as a result. The 11:25 AM M-train from Tampere to Toijala has been cancelled, while the IC476 service from Pori to Tampere, which departed after 8:00 AM, is running over an hour behind schedule.
Further updates on the situation are expected.
