Police investigate aggravated robbery in Järvenpää, Finland
Police in Eastern Uusimaa are investigating a suspected aggravated robbery that occurred in Järvenpää on Tuesday. Authorities received an alert shortly before 4 PM regarding an assault on a man lying on the ground, as reported by a passerby. When police patrols arrived at the scene, they found no one there. However, after a brief search, officers located two individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions. They were arrested and remain in police custody.
“The suspects are young men or young adults,” said Crime Commissioner Sampsa Aukio from the Eastern Uusimaa police department. According to an eyewitness, the victim is reported to be approximately the same age as the alleged perpetrators, Aukio shared. While police have a clear understanding of the sequence of events, they are withholding details about the motive and circumstances for investigative reasons.
Despite ongoing searches, police have been unable to locate the victim of the assault. They are requesting that the victim come forward as a complainant.
“The victim’s identity remains unknown to the police, which is why we urge him to contact the police to clarify the situation,” Aukio stated. He added that it is not common for a victim to be missing, but it does happen from time to time. “There could be various reasons why the individual does not wish to report the incident to the police.”
