A recent episode of the Faroese radio program Orðaval explored language changes in Faroese and its similarities with Icelandic pronunciation, according to public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.

Bjarni Steintún, a representative from the Faroese Language Department, joined host Øssur Egholm to discuss evolving linguistic trends. The conversation also covered flag-related topics and other name-related matters.

The program, broadcast on May 5, 2026, examined how Faroese and Icelandic—both North Germanic languages—share phonetic traits despite their distinct development.
