Serious traffic collision in Ålesund leaves one critically injured
A head-on crash between a bus and a car in Ålesund on Tuesday morning has left at least one person in a life-threatening condition, according to local police.
Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet reports that emergency services are performing life-saving first aid on an adult from the car involved in the collision. The accident occurred shortly after 5:20 AM, with police confirming five people were in the car and only the driver in the bus.
All occupants have since been removed from the vehicle. “The accident appears serious,” operations manager Sindre Molnes of the local police stated in the initial report. Road conditions were described as extremely slippery, and the route remains closed in both directions, with authorities warning of an extended shutdown.
