Borgernes Parti loses second MP as Nadja Natalie Isaksen resigns
The last remaining member of Denmark’s Borgernes Parti (Citizens’ Party) besides leader Lars Boje Mathiesen has resigned from the party, DR reports.
Nadja Natalie Isaksen, elected to the Folketing (Danish parliament) in March, announced her departure in a Facebook post on Monday. She stated that the party had failed to meet the expectations of its members and supporters.
“I had high hopes for the party, and I believe I fought loyally from the beginning for its political agenda,” Isaksen wrote. “Unfortunately, Borgernes Parti has not become what many of us hoped for and worked towards. The necessary conditions for doing political work are no longer present.”
Isaksen’s exit leaves the party, founded in 2023, with only its leader, Lars Boje Mathiesen, as its sole parliamentary representative.
